Time Management Techniques for Each Section

  • Listening:

    • Preview the questions before each recording to identify key details.

    • Use the 30 seconds provided between recordings to prepare for the next set of questions.

    • Transfer answers to the answer sheet quickly and accurately during the 10-minute transfer time.

  • Reading:

    • Allocate specific time limits for each passage (e.g., 20 minutes per passage for Academic or sections for General).

    • Skim through passages first to grasp the main ideas before focusing on the questions.

    • Prioritize easier questions and revisit challenging ones later.

  • Writing:

    • Spend around 20 minutes on Task 1 and 40 minutes on Task 2 to reflect their weightage in scoring.

    • Reserve 5 minutes at the end to review your responses for grammar and coherence.

    • Plan your structure briefly before starting to write each task.

  • Speaking:

    • Use preparation time for the cue card in Part 2 wisely—jot down key points to guide your answer.

    • Manage your responses to remain concise in Part 1 and elaborate with examples in Parts 2 and 3.
